Fatima Al Qadiri
For more than a decade, Fatima Al Qadiri has been pushing the boundaries of electronic music. Her compositions weave together club rhythms, ambient textures, and cinematic tension into sonic landscapes that feel at once futuristic and eerily familiar.
Al Qadiri’s work emerges at the intersection of personal memory, political history, and the digital present. Growing up in Kuwait during the Gulf War, living between cultures, and being raised in a family of artists have profoundly shaped her practice, in which club music converges with ambient soundscapes, cinematic atmospheres, and conceptual inquiry.
Her releases on the seminal label Hyperdub, as well as her work with the collective Future Brown, have established her as one of the defining voices in contemporary electronic music. Her practice also extends to film scoring, most recently composing the soundtrack for François Ozon’s The Stranger (L’Étranger), based on Albert Camus’s iconic novel.
