Mark Leckey
Mark Leckey is one of the leading figures in British contemporary art, whose work has been presented at major international institutions including Tate Britain, MoMA PS1, Serpentine Gallery and the Hammer Museum.
The exhibition features Dream English Kid 1964–1999 AD (2015), a 23-minute video collage in which Leckey draws on fragments of pop culture, music and media imagery to construct a portrait of his own coming of age and of British culture in the second half of the 20th century. Personal memories intertwine with the collective imagery of the era, exploring how sounds, images and the evolution of media – from radio and television to the internet – shape our memory and sense of identity.
