Ian Anderson
The Designers Republic is a British design studio founded in Sheffield in 1986 by Ian Anderson and Nick Phillips. Through its bold and distinctive visual language, the studio has had a significant impact on late 20th-century graphic design, particularly in the fields of electronic music, video games and branding. Their work combines experimental typography, influences from Japanese popular culture, corporate aesthetics and a critical approach to consumerism and mass media.
Ian Anderson, graphic designer and creative director, has collaborated with clients including Warp Records, Sony, MTV, Coca-Cola, Nokia and Issey Miyake. His practice explores the connections between design, technology, popular culture and contemporary forms of visual communication.
