The End of Images

What happens to images when they are increasingly shaped by algorithms, platforms, and virtual environments? In their conversation, The End of Images, Dean Kissick and David Rudnick explore the intersections of visual culture, technology, and contemporary society.

David Rudnick is a British-born, American-educated, self-taught designer—one of the most compelling figures in the contemporary visual scene. Deeply rooted in electronic music and underground culture, his work spans typography, 3D, and moving image. Through his theory of the digital-prime, he explores how meaning and value are constructed in immaterial, virtual worlds.

Dean Kissick is a writer, a contributing editor of Spike Art Magazine, and a director of EARTH—a space in New York and Los Angeles for alternative cultural events. His cultural criticism has appeared in Harper’s, The New York Times Magazine, and The Drift, while his monthly column The Downward Spiral became a touchstone in contemporary art discourse.
