The After Image roundtable will speculate on emergent forms of communication and cognition, the aesthetic implications of these developments, and the nascent media environment that is actualized. The panelists will explore how AI’s unmooring of truth and “the human” transforms both, as well as humanity’s relation to the world, consequently affecting approaches to art-making and sense-making.

Thinking beyond the digital, the conversation will grasp the coming quantum modality, cultivating an openness to the instability and uncertainty that necessarily come with it – embracing the unknown and unknowable unfolding beyond meaning, selfhood, and sociality as we currently conceive of them.

Just over the horizon are images we can see through (and be through), which bring us back to our senses and to new forms of communion, communication, and experience.
