Maja Osojnik is a Slovenian singer, composer, electroacoustic improviser, and sound artist. Her primary media include voice, Paetzold bass recorders, field recordings, DJ-CDs, cassettes, and various lo-fi electronic devices, toys, waste materials, and found objects. Artistically, she moves between the realms of analog and digital art, virtuality and reality. Her oeuvre spans contemporary, experimental, electronic, jazz, and improvised genres, reaching into sound art and heavier musical forms. Frequently described with opposing adjectives, Osojnik’s music is at once realistic and surreal, fragile and destructive, ghostly yet beautiful and elegant.
