Peter Sloterdijk is a German philosopher and cultural theorist. He is a professor of philosophy and media theory at the University of Art and Design Karlsruhe. In the style of Nietzsche, Sloterdijk remains convinced that contemporary philosophers have to think dangerously and let themselves be "kidnapped" by contemporary "hyper-complexities": they must forsake our present humanist and nationalist world for a wider horizon at once ecological and global. Sloterdijk's philosophical style strikes a balance between the firm academicism of a scholarly professor and a certain sense of anti-academicism.
Slavoj Žižek is one of the most published philosophers of the early 21st century, known for his provocative and penetrating thinking that critically examines and challenges the global spirit of the times. Žižek's work often explores the underlying ideological structures and contradictions of contemporary society, and he offers critiques of capitalism, consumerism, political correctness, and the prevailing social and cultural order. He combines philosophical analysis with references to popular culture, literature, and cinema, making his work accessible to a wider audience.
